Context of the project

This project concerns the establishment of a tomato processing unit in Aného in the prefecture of Lakes. This is a private initiative by a group of Togolese economic operators aimed at responding to the acute need to enhance the national production of fresh tomatoes, to reduce the excessively high rate of post-harvest losses of fresh tomatoes in the country. and thus provide the population with quality products bearing the TIG “Made in Togo” mark. This project is part of axis 2 “Developing agricultural transformation poles, manufacturers …” of the National Development Plan (PND). This project is characterized as follows:

Cost and timeliness of the project

The total cost of the project is estimated at 39 millions USD and the project aims to create more than 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Our products

The tomato factory will have an annual processing capacity of 90,000 tonnes of fresh tomatoes. The project will bring to market the product commonly known as the canned double tomato concentrate of different sizes (70g, 210g, 400g and 2200g). The double concentrated tomatoes that the company plans to bring to the market are 100% natural. The concentration will be 35% for TiG products. Products manufactured by TiG will bear the “RUBY” mark. The annual production capacity of double tomato concentrate “finished products” 11,160 Tons. This represents around 22% of the Togolese market estimated at 51,147 tonnes.
